Birthday Party! Kids In Stitches

Level: for children ages 8-17

Cost: $150 up to 5 children and $35 per additional child (for a 2.5-hour party). Limit of seven children ages 8-17.

Our fiber birthday parties are a fun and creative way for kids to celebrate their day with friends. Prior to the event, the birthday child chooses one of our many different textile projects which they all will make at our studio. The Fiber Works MPLS studio is loaded with all the materials needed to fuel their imaginations and keep their hands engaged. Each child will leave with a piece uniquely their own. Sewing time is about 1.5 hours with about 50 minutes available for cake and fun chatter. We are located right next to Carma Coffee, so if parents choose to stay, they have a place to relax while we get to work.

Family provides cake, juice, any other food stuff, and any additional decorations.  We provide the plates, cups, and utensils.

Jen's Class

Paper & Cloth from the Kitchen Sink with Jen Schultz

Level: for children ages 8-17

Cost: $290 plus a materials fee $15 payable to Jen on the first day

We are super excited to have local artist Jen Schultz join us this summer!  She brings to the studio a whole new adventure in texture with hand-made paper.

This new camp immerses kids in the art of making paper and dyeing cloth to create their own hand-sewn books and other projects. With kitchen scraps and a little know-how, you can use those compostables to make paper and dye fabric the natural way. Hand-sewing and scissor skills helpful.

Jen Schultz is a local Twin Cities artist with a rich history of teaching art and sewing (and other subjects) to children and adults alike.  Camp Cityfarm at Grace Center, fashion camps at the Textile Center of MN, Jen has shared her creative visions and abundant talent with our community and beyond.  Explore more of Jen’s recent work at JenSchultzStudio on
