Overview
Creative expression & learning through hand-work.
Our fiber camps, school release days, and homeschool programs are gateways to creative expression. We provide the space, materials, tools, and instruction for children to engage their creative brain. Our days are full. With the summer camps we have the time to more fully introduce the fundamentals of sewing and knitting. Our structured School Release Days provide students with an overview of these basic principles through carefully planned projects. And there is always some free time when they can let their imaginations run wild.
Our homeschool program is offered through Planet Homeschool.
Program Policies
Participation
Our classes are structured learning environments and the projects presented are designed to support the skills we cover. We expect students to be ready and willing to get to work when they arrive. However, if for any reason during the course of the day a child needs a break of their own, we will certainly accommodate them. Often times children will bring a book just in case they need this quiet time before resuming their projects. If your child has any specific needs, to help them be comfortable and successful at Fiber Works MPLS please let us know and indicate this on the release form.
Cancellations
Summer camp cancellations must be made 21 days prior to the camp start date for a full refund less $25. Within 21 days but more than 7 days we will refund ½ of payment. There is no refund of payment for any cancellations made less than 7 days prior to camp start date.
We reserve the right to cancel any camp that is not sufficiently filled. We will announce this at least 2 weeks in advance of the camp and a full refund will be given.
Consent & Release Forms
Some of the Fiber Works classes have off-site field trips. Children ride in a vehicle with seat belts driven by a responsible adult. Children will only be permitted to leave class with a Fiber Works instructor or the child’s authorized parent/guardian.
All sewing involves a degree of risk of injury. We teach and monitor safe practices with all students using the machines and tools.
MEDIA: Any video, photos, images of the children taken at camp, and quotes or other written materials may be used by Fiber Works MPLS or assigned agents for art, advertising, and promotional literature. Campers waive the right to inspect and/or approve the finished product or copy. We will never use names or contact information of campers on any of our media materials or promotions.
Be sure you complete & return to us the release form below for Summer Camps 2022. The W-9 is also available for download should you need this.
