How do we achieve sustainability?  Where does one person even start to make a difference?  Students will bring in garments they no longer wear or do not like the way it fits and together we will come up with creative ways to up-scale, revamp, repurpose them.  We aim to teach students how to begin to make their own wardrobe a sustainable one.   Let’s all work to keep clothes out of the land fill!

Local artist Jen Schultz joins us  again this summer!  She brings to the studio a whole new adventure in texture with hand-made paper.

This new camp immerses kids in the art of making paper and dyeing cloth to create their own hand-sewn books and other projects. With kitchen scraps and a little know-how, you can use those compostables to make paper and dye fabric the natural way. Hand-sewing and scissor skills helpful.

Jen Schultz is a local Twin Cities artist with a rich history of teaching art and sewing (and other subjects) to children and adults alike.  She is a costume designer for local theater Morris Park Players, and will soon begin teaching at the Arts Consortium of Carver County.  Jen has shared her creative visions and abundant talent with our community and beyond.  Explore more of Jen’s recent work at JenSchultzStudio on Etsy.com

This class is designed for students who have previously taken our summer camps or have previous pattern sewing experience.  Deepen your knowledge and skills and discover the freedom to sew it alone!
